Sudlersville Volunteer Fire Company

On March 14, 1927, 21 men in the community of Sudlersville started a very important service to people in the area. This service was to protect the lives and property of the men, women and children in Sudlersville and its surrounding area. Today, not only men, but also women and children voluntarily assume the responsibility for these services.
In years past, Sudlersville Volunteer Fire Company was responsible for mainly fire suppression. Today, emergency medical services, advanced life support, hazardous material responses, fire and rescue, and fire prevention education are among the duties performed by these volunteers.
Volunteer fire companies are the main source of fire protection and emergency medical services in the United States. Sudlersville Volunteer Fire Company is proud to provide these services to the community.
Nearly a century later, we remain 100% volunteer-owned, operated, and staffed, continuing our proud tradition of service to the community. Our members dedicate their time and skills to protecting life, property, and the environment, not only in Sudlersville but also in the surrounding areas through mutual aid.
Over the decades, our company has grown to meet the ever-changing needs of the community.
Today, the SVFC operates a modern fleet of apparatus that enables us to respond to a wide variety of emergencies.

Our fleet includes:
  • 2 – Class A Engines (E63 & E64)
  • BLS Special Unit (SU69)
  • 75-foot aerial ladder (Quint 6)
  • Heavy rescue unit (R6)
  • Tanker (T6)
  • Brush Truck (B6)
  • Multiple support units.
Each piece of equipment plays a vital role in ensuring we can respond effectively to fire, rescue, and emergency medical incidents.

The SVFC proudly covers a first-due area of approximately 65 square miles!

… not including the many times we respond to assist our neighbors through mutual aid.

No matter the call, our volunteers are committed to delivering the highest quality emergency services with professionalism, dedication, and pride.
