Tuesday Night Drill

Jan 15: At 19:30 Hrs the members of SVFC held the first drill of the year. Members were split into three groups and rotated between A-6, A-60, PM 600 and the County Haz-Mat trailer. A officer at each unit reviewed the equipment and its location. We also review how some equipment operates.


MVC in the 6-2 Box

Jan 17: 15:50 Hrs Sta 6 was alerted for a MVC at the intersection of Rt. 313 and Rt. 302. Rescue 6 arrived and reported a 2 vehicle MVC and officer 608 (J. Apple) assumed Goldsboro Rd. CMD. Crews from R-6 inspected both units involved in the accident for hazards while EMS checked the occupants for injuries. All occupants refused treatment. CMD placed the box under control and released all units. Sta 6 units operated for approximately 30 mins with a total staffing of 22 personnel. Units on the box R-6, E-64, B-6, A-6 and QA PM 600.

Dinner and Dance

Jan 18th: Just a reminder that the installation of officers and ladies night starts at 18:00 Hrs Jan the 19th for those who were invited.

MVC in the 6-5 Box

Jan 29: At 21:21 Hrs Sta 6 was alerted for a MVC For a MVC on Dixon Tavern Rd with a cross street of Woodyard Rd. Chief 6 arrived and advised he had 1 car off the road and into a tree, with one PT. Chief 6 (F. Kinnamon) Established Dixon Tavern Rd CMD. After EMS evaluation aviation was requested by CMD. PT was taken by Trooper 6 to STC. CMD place box under control and all units were placed in service. Sta 6 units operated for approximately 1 hour with a total staffing of 31 personnel. Units on the box R-6, E-64, B-6, A-6, U-6 and QA PM 600.


Barn Fire in the 7-1 Box

Jan 30: At17:26 Hours Sta 6 was alerted to assist Sta 7 with a working barn fire located on Chester River heights Rd. with a cross street of Kirby River Road. PM 600 was the first to arrive and reported they had one large barn with heavy fire showing. Officer 705 arrived on Location and assumed CMD and request additional tankers to be added to the box, 2 brush units for a small brush fire, and for the Fire Marshall to respond. Sta 6 units operated for approximately 2 hour with a total staffing of 23 personnel. Units on the box R-6, E-64, B-6, Q-6, T-6, and U-6.
