Cadet Kinnamon Bags First Buck on Youth Day
Nov 10:  Congratulations to SVFC Cadet Kinnamon for Bagging his first buck. This 9 point buck weighed 160 pounds.

Nominations of Officers for 2008
Nov 13: Nominations for Administrative, Fire, and EMS positions were taken at the regular meeting on Tuesday, November 13th. Reminder that the next company meeting on November 27th is the last opportunity to nominate someone else or yourself for an elected position for 2008.

Church Service at SVFC

Nov 13: On November the 25th the Calvary Asbury Methodist Church will hold it's Sunday Service at 11:00 AM in the SVFC Hall. After the service a luncheon will be available. Please bring a covered dish. The church service is open to anyone in the community. All SVFC Members are asked to wear Class "A" Uniforms if you have one.

Building fire in the 5-5 Box

Nov: 15: 07:44 Hrs Station 6 was alerted to assist station 5 for a dwelling fire 831 Briley Mill Road. PM 600 was first to arrived and reported nothing showing investigating, Advised all incoming units to report to the rear of the chicken houses. Eng 52 arrived and Firefighter K. Carson assumed CMD. during the investigation a small fire was discovered inside a large chicken manure barn and quickly extinguished. Due to the large amount of manure in the barn and the location of the fire it was determined that a large dozer was needed to remove the manure from the barn to insure the manure would not reignite. The owner advised CMD he had equipment coming and would spread out the manure in a field during today's rain. The owner also advised CMD that he felt there was no further need for the fire equipment. CMD was terminated and all units were placed in service. Sta 6 units operated for approximately 1 hour and 15 min with a total staffing of 11 Personnel. Units on the box E-52, AMB 5, E-64, T-6, PM 600, and KCM Tower 6.

 


Medical Assist and Smoke investigation in the 6-1 box

Nov: 15: 14:19 Hrs Sta 6 was alerted to assist PM 600 with removing a Pt from the house and into the ambulance. Due to the Medic being committed on another call FF Angelini from R-6 Committed to the AMB as the drive of PM 600. // AT 14:30 Hrs Sta 6 was alerted for a smoke investigation in the area of 303 South Church St. upon arrival of E-64 they found the home owner burning the coating off of copper wire in his back yard. Chief Kinnamon place the box in-service. Sta 6 units operated for approximately on both calls for 1/2 hour with a total staffing of 15 Personnel. R-6 for the medical assist, and E-64 for the smoke investigation.

Haz-Mat in the 5-83 Box

Nov 17: 07:58 Hrs Station 6 was alerted to assist station 5 with a Haz-Mat MVC south bound Route 301 in the area of Route 302. Officer 504 arrived on location with a 18 wheeler on it's side in a field with a placard of 1173 and assumed Route 301 CMD. 1173 (Ethyl acetate is highly flammable and will ignite by heat, spark, or flames. This product has a low ignition point) Crew form Eng 64 inspected the tank for leaks. No leaks were found and CMD contacted MDE. MDE advise CMD to hold all units on location until there arrival. After MDE arrived and investigated the tanker that only a Engine and 1 tanker were needed. CMD released all units exception of Station 5 units. Sta 6 units operated for approximately 4 hour with a total staffing of 17 personnel. Sta 6 units on the box E-64, R-6, and T-6

Assist with MVC with Entrapment 7-14 Box

Nov 17: 18:37 Sta 6 was alerted to assist STA 7 (Crumpton) with a MVC with roll over and entrapment on Route 544 in the area of Leverage Road. Chief 7 arrived on location and reported that 1 car on it's roof with 1 subject trapped under the car. The PT was extricated using cribbing, Airbags, and High Lift jacks. The Pt. was transported to Shock Trauma by Trooper 6. Sta 6 units operated for approximately 1 hour and 30 mins with a total staffing of 19 personnel. Units on the box R-7, B-7, A-7 E-52, R-6, PM 600, PM 400 and Kent Co. MD. R-6.

Church Services held at SVFC

Nov 25: The Sudlersville Calvary Asbury Methodist Church held the 11:00 AM services at SVFC. 26 Members attended the services and a covered dish luncheon was held immediately following the services. Some items worth mentioning the Sudlersville Calvary Asbury Methodist Church provided 66 families with a full Thanksgiving dinner complete with all of the trimmings, and with the help of Sudlersville Elementary, Church Hill Elementary and Sudlersville Middle School the food pantry is well stocked at this time.

Assist with a Working Fire in the 4-8 Box

Nov 29: 17:29 Hours Sta 6 was alerted for Quint 6 to assist Sta 4 (Centreville) with a large 2 1/2 story working house fire at 255 Burton Air Drive. Shortly after the response of Q-6 the box was increased to a 2nd alarm assignment and Sta 6 was alerted for E-64, and later the box reached a 3rd alarm assignment bring Tanker 6. upon the arrival of Q-6 CMD requested the Quint to set-up a for defensive mode operation with the master stream. Quint 6 flowed approximately 25,000 gallons of water with the master stream. Sta 6 units operated for approximately 4 hour and 30 mins with a total staffing of 16 personnel. Units on the box Q-6, E-64, and T-6. Other companies on the box from QA County Sta 1,2 ,3,4,5, 7 Caroline County Sta 700, 600, 400 Talbot County Sta 50, 80 and Kent County MD Tanker 2. Thank you to the transfer crew from Kent County DE. Sta 51 who staffed our station during this incident.
