Lighting Assist for MVC 6-8 Box

July1: 00:55 hours Officer 606 (I Russell) while on his way home spotted a car overturned in a field on Route 313 in the area of Hacketts Corner Road. After investigating the incident he found the car was unoccupied. Due to the large amount of blood in the vehicle he requested the station to be alerted for lighting to search the field for the occupant in case the occupant was ejected from the vehicle. The search for the occupants could not be located. Command (I. Russell) placed the box under control place  Rescue 6 and Ambulance 60 in service. Units operated on scene for 30 min. with 13 personnel.

2007 Carnival July 17-21, 2007

May 31: Fast approaching is the 7th Annual Sudlersville Fireman's Carnival and Parade. The schedule is not totally completed but we wanted to post what we have so far. You will notice some new events on the calendar and a return of a old event.

  • Sudlersville Idol Contest

  • Ride in Bike Show (Presented in association with Maryland Chapter 7 Red Knights Club)

  • 2nd annual Car show ( Presented in association Wet Customs Car Club)

  • The return of Lawn Mower Racing   ( Must be a member of ARMA to participate in race)

MVC/Assault on Bear Pond Road 6-11 Box

July 1: 16:35 hours station 6 and PM 600 along with Caroline County Station 56, and PM 791 were alerted for a MVC on Bear Pond Rd. in the area of Butterpatt Road. Officer 609 (K. Wise)  arrived POV established command. Command reported 1 pt laying on the road with a decreased LOC and Requested aviation. Command assigned the L/Z to the officer on Caroline County engine 56-1. During the incident we discovered that a motorcycle ran into the back of the pick-up truck and when the driver from the truck to look at the damage he was assaulted by the operator of the motorcycle who fled the scene before the arrival of fire and EMS equipment. Other companies on the call included R-6, A-60, Caroline County 56-1, A-56, PM 791, and MSP Trooper 7.Units operated on scene for 1 hour. with 18 personnel.


Vehicle Fire with Exposure 6-3 Box

July 1: 18:44 hrs Station 6, 5, 4 for the truck, and Caroline County Sta 700 were alerted for a vehicle fire next to a dwelling. Engine 64 arrived on location and reported that the fire was extinguished by the subject at the residence. Officer 606(I. Russell) established command. PM 60 and 600 evaluated the male subject with severe burns and requested aviation. Command held the box to units on location and a engine from sta. 5 to handle the L/Z. Crews from Engine 64 wet the vehicle down as a precaution measure. Invitation into the cause of the fire revealed that a male and female owners were using a shop-vac to remove gas from the tank of the vehicle. When a explosion occurred. Trooper 6 transport 1 pt to the burn center and PM 60 transported 1 female pt to Chester River Medical Center with minor burns. Units on location E-64, Q-6, T-6, PM 60, E-52, PM 600, and Trooper 6. Units operated on for 1 hour with a staffing of 24 personnel.

Large Structure Fire 7-4 box

July 1: 20:30 hrs Station 6 was dispatched to assist Sta. 7 Crumpton on what was reported as a large working structure fire on Bowers Rd. by Queen Anne's County EOC at dispatch. Chief 7 (Hurlock) arrived on location and found a homeowner burning a large amount of trash behind a barn. Chief 7 held the box to Sta 7 units and placed all other responding units in service. Units responding from Sta. 6 were E-64, Q-6, E-61, T-6, R-6, and ambulance 6. Station 6 had a total staffing of 25 personnel.
Preparing for the Carnival
July 3: On Tuesday night the members of SVFC spent a few hours performing some much needed yard work around the firehouse preparing for our upcoming carnival.

 


Fly out in the 6-4 Box
July 4: At 11:09 ambulance 60 was alerted for a subject thrown form a horse with a ankle injury at 2408 Peters Corner Road. EMS 6-3 (P. Wise) arrived POV and found the patient laying on the side of the road just past 2308 Peters Corner Road. After assessing the pt EMS 6-3 requested aviation. Officer 609 (K. Wise) established Command and advised that the L/Z would be in a open field near the scene. Units on location E-64, U-6, PM 60 ,PM 600, and Trooper 6.Units operated on for 1 hour with a staffing of 19 personnel.

Tanker 6 Transfer to Anne Arundel Co.

July 5: 11:21 hours Station 6 was alerted for Tanker 6 to transfer to Anne Arundel County. Tanker 6 transferred to Anne Arundel County station 35. T-6 operated with a staffing of 2 and returned to quarters at 16:18 hours

July 18: The 7th Annual Sudlersville Carnival started off with a great turnout from the public. Just a reminder that only 2 arm band nights remain Thursday Night, and Saturday from 3 PM to 6 PM. If you are up to the new challenges this year try your luck on the climbing Wall or the Mechanical Bull Supplied by Western Extremes Entertainment LLC. Here a few pictures of our first night below

July:19: Last night Baby Contest was another success with 49 participants. And the winners were. Age 6 Months: Elyssa Crossley, and Ethan Eisenhart, Age 1: Daisy Bland, and Brody Carroll Age 2: , Caitlyn Schrock, and Robert Stein Age 3: Emily Smith, and Kevin McDonald. July 31: Thank you to all of the visitors, Fire and EMS Companies, and elected officials that attended our 7th Annual Carnival. Because of your support this was our best year ever!
